Education

We are visited by groups of students throughout the year from schools, colleges and universities across the south of the UK.

Vocational Diploma students, undergraduates and post graduates, students with learning disabilities, local societies, fishery managers, horticulturists and wildlife managers all visit to learn about a wide and diverse range of issues such as pond construction, hatchery management, nutrition, aquatic weed control, habitat management, fish pathology and financial planning.

Research

We sponsor and support applied research into fish nutrition in collaboration with an international feed company and undergraduates at Sparsholt College.

We freely give our time and support our educational colleagues to viva student business plans.

We provide places for students to gain work experience from local schools and colleges. Not only do we provide the training, supervision and assessment but we always pay them a wage.

We provide biosecure stock for laboratories and universities across the UK for research.

The ministry DEFRA visits our farm with various national and international VIPs as an exemplar UK fishfarming enterprise.

Visitors

We organise open days for local community groups. Our site is open to local wildlife photographers and dog walkers by arrangement.
