The common bond is our love of all things fishy. Producing over 80 lines of fish from just 40 ponds is like producing a quart from a pint pot! It requires a dedicated team of players that are hugely reliant on the skills of one another. To see some of the work we do have a trawl through our blog or twitter feed.
Chris Seagrave: Partner
Started the business with Pat whilst teaching at Sparsholt college as Senior Lecturer in Fishery Management. After 28 years of teaching, he has finally hung up his felt tips. Chris is responsible for the breeding of all of the various species, generally getting in the way on the farm and keeping anyone who cares to listen abreast of the latest football news. First point of contact if you want to purchase stock or need some help
Pat Haughton : Partner
Pat too has hung up his felt pens after 30 years of teaching at Sparsholt’s fishery management department. He still keeps involved, liaising with Coppens International to run a sponsored student feed trial each Spring. Pat’s role on the farm is operations and planning. He generally does anything on the farm that requires hitting with a shovel. Possibly the best paraglider pilot in the group.
Mark Stringer : Manager
Mark has run the farm since 1999 after we poached him from a competitor. (Sorry Andy) Mark’s skills are too numerous to list. He manages a very complex business in all weathers and tolerates the increasing doddery and forgetful partners, always with a smile. He combines this with rearing children and a pack of unruly dogs; sickening really. Our most successful cod fisherman by a country mile.
Our midland boy Harry joined us in the summer of 2014 following the completion of his degree at Sparsholt. He is keen to put his hand to any job and has integrated into the team well. Outside of the farm duties Harry has become the latest of the Bowlake chicken keepers.
Will is the newest recruit to the team, joining us in 2015 after graduating from Sparsholt College. Will’s role on the farm is maintaining fish stocks and likes getting stuck into any job that generally involves a pair of waders. He also thrives in building projects and has great attention to detail. At weekends Will finds himself somewhere between Norfolk visiting family and getting out fishing, especially for his favoured quarry the perch!
Marilyn Seagrave: Partner
Press ganged into running the office, Marilyn makes sure the bills are paid and the staff receives large birthday cakes on the right day. A key member of the team, Marilyn copes with all of the paperwork the world throws at us without complaint!
Rosie Haughton: Partner
As Rosie lives on the farm with Pat she is automatically first reserve for all areas when the boys are away on a junket. She can start generators, feed fry and never panics when problems start the minute we all go off site.
